The term ‘Aquamarine’ translates to ‘Seawater’, after the luscious colours of the ocean depths, and for this reason it used to be coveted by seafarers, as superstition claimed it calmed sea waters and kept sailors safe at sea. A good quality Aquamarine is clear of any inclusions, has crystal clear transparency, and a strong blue to blue-green colour.

Aquamarine
Aquamarine is part of the Beryl family. Like Emerald, it is a colour variety of the mineral Beryl. Aquamarines form in large, elegant six sided crystals, that can on rare occasions be longer than a foot in length.
